    1. Soak the tamarind in hot water for 10 mins. In a mixer jar, add all grinding ingredients and grind well to fine paste.
    2. In a pan, add oil,mustard seeds,curry leaves, split red chili, flattened garlic cloves and splutter it for a minute.
    3. Then add the ground paste,salt,turmeric powder and cook until raw smell goes,for about 1-2 mins.
    4. Extract 11/2 cup tamarind juice and pour it into the pan.
    5. Add cooked toor dal, little water if it is too sour,hing, coriander leaves and let it boil for 5 mins.
    6. Switch off the flame,add 1 tsp of ghee and serve hot with rice or drink it simply as soup.
