    1. Soak chana dal overnight then grind it to a fine paste. Grind the green peas also. Mix both the paste together with asafoetida, kalonji, fennel,ginger paste and salt. Mix well.
    2. In a pan heat ghee add the mixture. Cook for 4-5 minutes. When the mixture become dry then pour it on a greased plate. And flaten it.
    3. When the mixture cools down cut into diamond shape. Shallow fry the dhokha or the pieces in hot ghee.
    4. Now in a pan heat ghee add asafoetida then add chopped tomatoes and salt. Cook for few minutes. Then add ginger paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder and chilli powder. Cook for a while. Add water and bring it to a boil. When the gravy thickens pour it over the dhokha and serve.
