    1. I chop my onions and celery then saute w a little butter till its kinda a mush consistency.
    2. meanwhile im browning the ground beef. drain
    3. add the beef, veggies & spices together in a medium sauce pan on med to low heat.
    4. add the remainder of the ingredients (tomato soup and ketchup) on medium to low heat.
    5. turn down heat and simmer for 20-30 mins.
    6. serve on any kinda bun.. I like mine on a open faced toasted bun w a slice of cheddar on top

    Add the oatmeal in small portions and slowly–it doesn't take a whole lot. If you choose, you can also used minced onion to taste–works well if you need to cook more quickly! Thick, rich and full of flavor, these sloppy joes will please even the pickiest eater. These sloppy joes keep for several days in the refrigerator and several months in the freezer. These were a family tradition, when we were growing up.
