    1. Prepare 750 g Lean mince beef
    2. Prepare 2 medium white onions
    3. Take 3 cloves garlic
    4. Get 2 eggs
    5. Get 100 g grated Parmesan
    6. Get 3 slices fresh granary breadcrumbs

Add the meatballs to the pan (working in batches if necessary) and brown meatballs, turning once. While the meatballs are browning, heat the marinara sauce in a stockpot over medium heat.

    1. Finely chop your onions and garlic and sweat in a medium saucepan until softened.
    2. Set aside half of the onions and garlic mix and add 800g chopped tomato’s to the remaining onions and garlic in the pan.
    3. Bring to the boil and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, breaking up the tomatos. Add fresh basil, salt and pepper and set aside.
    4. For the meatballs. Using the onions and garlic, place in a bowl and add your mince beef, eggs, Parmesan, breadcrumbs, oregano, thyme, salt and pepper and mix until combined together.
    5. Shape the meatballs a golf ball size and colour in a pan with a little olive oil. Remove from the pan and add in your tomato sauce.
    6. Place your meatballs in the sauce and slowly simmer with a lid until they are cooked through.
    7. Serve with pasta or simply enjoy as they are

    Lift the meatballs out of the sauté pan with a slotted spoon and put them in the marinara sauce. You won't find Spaghetti and Meatballs in Italy … Yes, really! In Italy, meatballs are called Polpette. Though the ingredients are typically the same as what I am using (except for my grated onion technique) along with a similar tomato sauce, they are larger (about the size of golf balls) and they are served with bread rather than pasta. So Spaghetti and Meatballs is not authentic Italian.
